Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Health Benefits Specialist to assist employees with health benefits and benefits-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will provide health benefit information to employees and explain benefit plans, process enrollments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals with questions regarding health insurance plans, eligibility, and coverage.
  • Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Explain medical, dental, vision, prescription, and other employee benefit programs.
  • Verify eligibility and maintain accurate benefit records.
  • Educate employees on available health benefit options during open enrollment and qualifying life events.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive personal and health information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Respond to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Stay current on healthcare regulations, insurance policies, and company benefit offerings.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in health insurance, employee benefits, human resources preferred.
  • Knowledge of health insurance terminology and benefit plans.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and benefits administration software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
