Job description

ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time instructors for the Health Information Technology (HIT) Program. Part-time instructors are hired on an as-needed basis. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as part-time positions become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Part-time/adjunct faculty in the HIT program are responsible for teaching the objectives for any course assigned, the assessment of student learning, and reporting of student progress as required by the college.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Credentialed in Health Information Administration or Health Information Technology by the American Health Information Association.
  2. Clinical practice in HIT for a minimum of 1 year or equivalent professional experience. Clinical teaching experience preferred.
  3. Strong communication, organization, interpersonal and counseling skills.
  4. Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers, applicable software, and Internet.
  5. Meets the minimum instructor requirements for any course assignment.

STARTING PAY AND HOURS
Salary varies based on educational level and number of units taught. Starting rates for the current Academic Year can be viewed on SWIC's Employment page .
