What You'll Do:
  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and reporting.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, public spaces, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points, observe visitor and staff activity, and/or report unusual conditions, suspicious behavior, or maintenance-related concerns according to site procedures.
  • Support the protection of artwork, exhibits, and/or property by following post orders, documenting incidents, and communicating relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Possessing a state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Possessing a guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
