Job Description:
Position Summary
The Office Assistant provides frontline administrative and operational support to the Testing and Accommodation Services and Registrar's Office. Under the supervision of the Testing and Accommodation Services Coordinator, this position assists with daily office functions including student check-in, file maintenance, and general clerical tasks. The Office Assistant plays a key role in maintaining a welcoming, organized, and confidential testing environment for students with documented disabilities.
With the exception of Federal/State Mandated Benefits, this position is Non-Benefited Part-Time with total work hours limited to under 910 per year. Work schedule will be 18 hours per week during the academic year.
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
  • Greet and check in students arriving for scheduled exams; verify appointments and confirm identity.
  • Answer phones and respond to in-person inquiries; direct students and faculty to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate and confidential student accommodation records and exam files
  • Perform general clerical duties including filing, data entry, photocopying, scanning, and supply management.
  • Assist in scheduling exam appointments and managing the testing calendar.

Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
  • Prior experience in an office, administrative, or customer service role preferred.
  • Experience in a higher education setting is desirable.
  • Familiarity with ADA policies or experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated patience, professionalism, and empathy when working with students.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in handling sensitive student information.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.

Compensation Range:
$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
