THE POSITION
As a Human Services Analyst with the Department of Human Services (DHS), you join a close-knit Office of Long-Term Living team that works together to strengthen support for people throughout Pennsylvania. You take on key responsibilities that help Community HealthChoices Managed Care Organizations stay aligned with program requirements and participant needs. You use your flexibility to handle a wide range of issues, collaborate with every Office of Long-Term Living department, and coordinate with contractors as assignments shift. This dynamic, fast-paced role offers steady variety and a strong sense of accomplishment with each task you complete.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role supports monitoring and compliance activities for Community HealthChoices Managed Care Organizations (CHC-MCO) by reviewing data, coordinating reviews, and helping resolve performance concerns. As a Human Services Analyst, you will perform the following duties:
  • Compliance Monitoring: Review CHC-MCO operations, analyze data, and assess compliance with Agreement requirements
  • Review Preparation: Develop agendas, plan on-site questions, and gather materials needed for reviews and evaluations
  • Policy Evaluation: Participate in functions related to special MCO projects and investigations to develop and revise contract management policies and procedures
  • Team Collaboration: Work with monitoring teams, staff, and contractors to address issues and support improvement efforts
  • Issue Resolution: Identify problems, research participant or provider concerns, and recommend solutions using available data
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong working relationships and provide timely responses to requests and inquiries

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating human services, social services, health care services, or health care insurance programs; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating human services, social services, health care services, or health care insurance programs.
