Job description

ECS is seeking a GIS Architect (part-time) to work in our Arlington, VA office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon additional funding.
Responsibilities include:
• Perform primary ArcGIS Enterprise administration, including working with CIO on troubleshooting and infrastructure upgrades.
• License ArcGIS applications and extensions using concurrent use licensing as well as single use licensing.
• Work with Esri technical support on deploying cloud-based instances of vendor software on vendor infrastructure.
• Work with database administrators to troubleshoot Enterprise Geodatabase issues.
• Manage ArcGIS Online organization and ArcGIS Enterprise deployment.
• Monitor ArcGIS Enterprise capacity, usage, CPU, hardware, storage, and services statistics.
• Managing cloud infrastructure to host ArcGIS Enterprise applications.
• Configuring mapping dashboards or web map applications using Portal for ArcGIS authoring tools. Configure mapping dashboards or web map applications using ArcGIS.
• Conduct various spatial analysis using Esri applications to derive actionable insights from data.
• Use scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, and SQL to write and maintain scripts to manipulate data and automate complex workflows, as well as join various databases for analytical processing.
• Write and update technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
• Present information and results to a variety of clients, host training sessions and formal presentations.
• Work independently and within teams to complete varied analytical and GIS-related projects and tasks.
Salary Range: $73.29-$76.17
General Description of Benefits
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Geography, GIS, Computer Science,
    Management of Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, or like degree with a
    significant quantitative, mathematical, or analytical component.
  • 7+ years of specialized experience administering Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • Professional experience with cloud infrastructures and databases.
  • Knowledge of the logistics, shipping, transportation, or mailing industries.
  • Deep knowledge of a wide range of GIS and mapping systems that can be integrated into analytics tools, along with the ability to innovate, test, and deploy new GIS solutions to meet evolving organizational needs.
  • Excellent communication skills - you have strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills, which are used to effectively interact with customers, collaborate with internal teams, and convey ideas and feedback
  • Analytical skills - part of the daily role includes analyzing data, feedback, and metrics to derive meaningful insights and make data-driven decisions
  • Customer service skills - you are experienced in placing the customer at the center of decision-making and continuously strive to exceed their expectations by staying on top of customer support and customer complaints, creating a powerful customer experience strategy
  • Problem-solving skills - you can identify and address customer issues, resolve conflicts, and find creative solutions to pain points
  • Adaptability - you can proactively respond to evolving customer needs, industry trends, and shifting business dynamics
  • Emotional intelligence - a high level of emotional intelligence enables you to navigate the
    emotions of both customers and team members, showing empathy when needed
