Job description

What You'll Do

Run the field. You'll take commercial interior projects from mobilization through closeout: coordinating subs, holding the schedule, keeping everyone safe, and protecting quality across every trade. A good amount of our work is in occupied buildings, including active senior-living campuses, so you'll deal with dust control, limited work hours, and keeping things respectful around people who live and work in the space. On site, you're the face of MKB.

The daily work: sub coordination and trade sequencing, keeping the schedule honest and calling out slippage early, quality control on framing, drywall, ACT, MEP rough-in, finishes, and millwork install, job-site safety, documenting conditions and progress, backing up the PM on RFIs and submittals, and driving the punch list and closeout to a finish you'd put your name on.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years as a commercial superintendent on interior renovations, upfits, or tenant build-outs. Senior living, healthcare, or occupied-space experience is a plus.
  • You read drawings carefully and catch scope gaps before they hit the field. We work off the drawings first, every time.
  • Working knowledge of all the interior trades: demo, framing, drywall, ACT, doors and hardware, flooring, paint, plumbing, electrical, fire sprinkler, fire alarm.
  • Comfortable coordinating design-build MEP off an architectural-only set.
  • You can build a schedule and hold it.
  • Experience with construction management software. We use BuilderTrend. Willing to learn it is fine.
  • Straight communication with owners, architects, subs, and inspectors.
  • Clean, organized, professional on site.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Who Does Well Here

We run an honest shop. We treat our subs right and pay them on time, because the good ones are worth keeping. If you take pride in your work, tell the truth before a small problem turns into a big one, and leave a site better than you found it, you'll fit here.

Pay & Benefits

Competitive salary based on experience, plus

Company Description

Master Kraft Build (a DBA of Master Kraft Inc.) is a commercial general contractor in the Charlotte area. We do office upfits, interior renovations, and tenant build-outs. We self-perform our own millwork, which most GCs our size don't, and it's a big part of how we control quality. We run organized job sites, we don't miss scope, and we finish clean. We're growing our commercial side and need a Superintendent who wants to help build it the right way.
Our capabilities extend beyond millwork and casework to include decorative steel fabrication and upholstery. With in-house drafting services, we can handle even the most complex projects.
We execute large-scale projects across our 33,000 sq. ft. of operations, spread across three manufacturing and office locations in South Charlotte—enabling us to manage multiple projects with a wide range of scopes.
