Job Description:
The Assistant Dean provides senior leadership for the Health Science Campus and the University as a whole across a broad spectrum of responsibilities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Academic Advisor for ~ 700 medical students
• Career Counseling and Advising, including Medical Specialty Decision-Making, Curriculum Vitae and Personal Statement Guidance and Review, Program Selection, and Interviewing Skills
• Medical Student Performance Evaluations for senior medical students
• Orientation for incoming medical students
• Co-Advisor, Gold Humanism Honor Society
• Co-Advisor, Alpha Omega Alpha
• Medical Student Awards Committee
• Graduation Committee
• Summer Internship/Preceptorship Programs
Minimum Qualifications:
1.M.D./D.O. or Ph.D. degree required
2.Recent higher education administrative experience working with students.
3.Knowledge of higher education and its practices and procedures.
