Join our Team!
The University Book Store is now hiring part-time sales associates at our State Street store. We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused team member for a part-time role, requiring 15 hours per week. Must be available to work weekends.
JOB FUNCTION:
Serves customers at the sales counter providing outstanding customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Performs UBS customer service expectations as required.
  2. Performs basic cash handling and sales transactions to accurately record purchases, and complete transactions according to company procedures.
  3. Serves customers, answer customer inquiries, and assists customers, demonstrating positive attitude and exceptional service.
  4. Keeps register/counter area clean and stocked.
  5. Maintains sales floor area, including stocking, sizing and rotating merchandise, cleaning and straightening merchandise and fixtures to present a positive store image.
  6. Maintains inventory records as directed including counting items, data entry, and verifying and recording information.
  7. Ensures merchandise is in stock, priced correctly, and displayed according to guidelines.
  8. Maintains sales floor security.
  9. Performs all additional duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Unloads and moves merchandise to and from the sales floor.
  2. Creating and changing displays to alert customers to new items or products of interest.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School degree
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds frequently.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness to perform a variety of tasks.
  • Retail sales experience preferred.

Salary Description
