Job Type: Part-time (16-20 hours/week)
At Stax, our IT team works diligently to ensure a smooth first-day experience by providing new employees with MacBooks that are ready for immediate use. We are currently enhancing this workflow through our Zero-Touch initiative, which utilizes Apple Business Manager, Jamf, and AI agents to ship fully configured devices directly to our team members. To support this evolving, future-ready infrastructure, we are seeking an Orlando-based team member to help manage and maintain our existing deployment operations.
As an IT Intern, you'll be the hands-on owner of MacBook deployment and decommissioning out of our Orlando office. You'll learn the full lifecycle of enterprise hardware at a fintech company, work alongside our System Admin II, Technical Support Specialist, and Sr. Director of IT, and get exposure to how a real IT team operates under SOC 2 and PCI-DSS - including how we're putting enterprise AI tools like Claude, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot to work across our workflows.
This role requires you to be in office at our HQ in Orlando, FL.
Key Responsibilities & Objectives
  • MacBook Deployment for new hires and refresh cycles, including:
    • Unboxing and physically setting up devices by installing required software
    • Coordinating shipping for remote employees and prepping desk pickups locally
  • MacBook Decommissioning for returns and offboarding, including:
    • Receiving returned devices and logging them in asset management
    • Removing Apple IDs, clearing MDM profiles, Erasing devices via Disk Utility
    • Prepping clean devices for redeployment or disposal
  • Gain experience in managing the lifecycle of IT support tickets by performing initial triage and troubleshooting, ensuring all issues are resolved according to established SLAs.
  • Hardware and peripheral maintenance for conference rooms, common areas, and desks
  • Gain hands-on experience by supporting the deployment and implementation of internal software and applications
  • Maintain high data hygiene across asset management and ticketing systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Working familiarity with macOS; Windows experience a plus
  • Detail-oriented with the discipline to follow a multi-step SOP without skipping steps
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter able to work independently after training
  • Comfortable with standard business software (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office)
  • Able to lift and relocate computer equipment up to 60 lbs
  • Available to work on-site at our Orlando office
  • Familiarity with terminal/shell commands are a plus
  • Curiosity about scripting, automation, and enterprise AI tooling a plus
