Job description

Formal Dining Server
As a Formal Dining Server at St. Louis Country Club, you will be expected to provide high quality, personalized service in a private member only club. Formal dining servers will focus on detailed menu knowledge, wine service, anticipating guests needs, synchronized service and multi-course timing. Our servers will be expected to maintain a polished professional demeanor, provide an exceptional dining experience, and follow strict etiquette.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in fine dining or high-end service. (Required)
  • Experience with formal table etiquette. (Preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of food and beverages. (Required)
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time. (Required)
  • Must be comfortable lifting items up to 40 lbs. (Required)
  • Previous country club experience. (Preferred)
  • Proficiency with POS systems. (Preferred)
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. (Required)
  • Strong knowledge of wine varietals. (Preferred)
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Memorize menus, ingredients, and preparation methods of items included but not limited to: Table side Caesar salads and Dover Sole.
  • Greet members in a timely fashion and by name.
  • Present and serve multiple courses.
  • Follow formal dining etiquette, including removing used flatware, clearing from the left, crumbing between courses, and ensuring proper pacing.
  • Provide exceptional hospitality, by handling guests’ needs, special requests, and resolving any issues with professionalism.
  • Follow service operating procedures on presenting, opening, pouring, and maintaining wine service.
  • Perform opening, closing, and cleaning tasks to maintain high club standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and openness to adapt to change quickly while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well stocked service area.
  • Communicate any additional changes or issues to a manager as needed.
  • Build rapport with members and guests to ensure world class service.
  • Perform and complete other duties as requested by supervisors.
