Cedarfield Server

- Part time. 20 hours per week, 4pm-9pm shift. Some weekends & Holidays needed.

Job Description

The dining room server is assigned a section in the dining room . They provide all aspects of service and provide residents with their meals in a fine dining style. Servers are responsible for resident dining satisfaction. Part of the server’s job is to recognize there is a problem before it is too late. The server provides all aspects of dining service to residents. The server may plate food, check quality and temperature before serving to the resident’s selection. Performs routine cleaning, dining room set-up and assists in special functions.

Education, Experience, Certifications and Licensure Requirements

  1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  2. At least on year of experience serving tables in an upscale dining venue preferred.

Job Duties

  1. Responsible for the resident dining satisfaction. You are responsible for the people in your section from the time they sit down until they leave the dining room.
  2. Place food orders and deliver food and drink to residents in proper “fine dining” fashion.
  3. Clearing courses and perform cleaning of assigned dining areas.
  4. Participate in set-up and breakdown of special function events.
  5. Attend all mandatory in-service training sessions. .
  6. Assist with the training and development of other servers as requested by management.
  7. Assist in restocking and sanitation of wait stations and service areas used during service.
  8. Servers maintain the highest level of productivity and professionalism.
  9. Enter food and beverage orders into the system used to communicate with the kitchen
  10. All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  1. Knowledge of dining room procedures, presentation, service, bussing, customer relations and sanitation
  2. Comfortable using personal computers and handheld devices. Must be able to use Microsoft Office
  3. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
  4. Ability to read, write and communicate using the English language
  5. Ability to taste, smell and see with or without corrected vision.
  6. Comfortable working with older adults.
  7. Able to work in a fast-paced environment, performing multiple tasks while maintaining the highest level of productivity and professionalism.

Physical Requirements and working Conditions

  1. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  2. Extensive walking, pulling, pushing, carrying, bending, stooping and standing
  3. Exposure to heat and cold in a food production environment.
  4. Must be neat and clean at all times.
  5. Universal worker. Flexibility in scheduling as working evenings, weekends, holidays and during inclement weather is required.
  6. Exposure to the sights, sounds, odors found in a typical healthcare environment including persons with dementia.
