B&M Machine Co., a precision CNC job shop in Belleville, NJ with a 75+ year legacy, also operates a premium direct-to-consumer brass hardware brand, combining manufacturing excellence with modern e-commerce. As a Part-Time Full-Charge Bookkeeper, you will manage the accounting operations for both business entities. You will work directly with the President and an external CPA to support financial reporting, tax coordination, and month-end close. In this role, you will bring structure, accuracy, and efficiency to multi-entity bookkeeping while maintaining clean, reliable financial data across manufacturing and e-commerce operations. This position is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper who prefers meaningful, focused responsibility in a flexible part-time schedule.

What we're looking for:
  • 7+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience in manufacturing, distribution, or multi-entity small business environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas), and ERP-to-accounting system reconciliation.
  • Proven experience with e-commerce accounting, including Shopify order reconciliation and multi-channel financial tracking.
  • Solid knowledge of payroll processing, sales tax compliance, and financial reporting, with the ability to work on-site in Belleville, NJ, on a flexible weekday schedule (20-25 hours/week).

What you'll do as the Full-Charge Bookkeeper:
  • Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice matching, ERP-based invoicing, payment processing, vendor management, and collections.
  • Perform complex reconciliations across multiple systems, including bank accounts, credit cards, ERP-to-QuickBooks Online, and Shopify-to-QuickBooks integrations.
  • Oversee payroll processing through a PEO, including weekly submissions, PTO tracking, payroll reconciliation, and year-end W-2/1099 reporting.
  • Handle sales and use tax compliance, including NJ filings and multi-state e-commerce nexus tracking for online sales.
  • Lead month-end close activities and financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements, and weekly cash flow updates to leadership.
  • Manage new hire paperwork, onboarding and personnel files; coordinate benefit enrollment, time-off tracking, I-9 employment verification and basic compliance.
