Job description

Utah Fertility Center’s Midvale location is hiring a part-time Phlebotomist to join our team! This is an opportunity to work in the innovative and exciting field of fertility and join an extraordinary and committed staff.

This position includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture.
  • Interact with patients courteously and professionally, explaining the procedure and addressing any concerns or questions to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation.
  • Verify patient identity using proper identification methods to ensure the blood samples are correctly labeled and matched with the appropriate patient.
  • Collect blood specimens in appropriate tubes or containers, following proper procedures to prevent contamination and maintain sample integrity. Label specimens accurately and record the necessary information for identification and tracking.
  • Operating an Immunoassay Analyzer (QC, daily maintenance, sample testing)
  • Correctly verify results and release them for Physician review.
  • Prepare blood specimens for transport to the laboratory, ensuring proper handling and packaging according to established protocols
  • Document all blood collections accurately, including patient information, collection site, procedure details, and any complications or adverse reactions.
  • Maintain comprehensive records following regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
