Job description

Support the full-time staff of the Office of Spiritual Development by completing professional administrative tasks to enhance and fulfill the department outcomes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide key administrative support for staff and students.
  • Ensures quality control of written communications, including proofreading, editing, and verifying accuracy, clarity, and adherence to university editorial standards.
  • Research, write, and edit a variety of OSD materials (Convocation and Campus Community assets, social media captions and graphics, brochures, email campaigns, newsletters, etc.).
  • Supports the Associate Director of Strategic Planning and Implementation with the development and execution of strategic communication initiatives, ensuring that OSD's strategic priorities, reports, and insights are conveyed clearly across internal and external platforms.
  • Take initiative to identify tone and voice of both OSD's departments and the University to write clear, persuasive, and original copy.
  • Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing & fostering the mission of Liberty University and OSD.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
  • Computer knowledge, including MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Work well independently and as a team member

ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB
Communication and Comprehension
  • Possess communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of campus leaders and volunteers.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Minimum typing 60 words per minute
  • Ability to work under pressure with deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner

Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.
Driving Requirements
