Job description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work effectively with the kitchen team and comply with company procedures and food safety policies.
  • Prepare workstation with required ingredients and equipment while keeping station sanitary and organized throughout shifts.
  • Prepare ingredients following recipes and guidelines.
  • Steam, bake, and complete other basic cooking responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ensure ingredients are labeled, date-stamped, sealed, stored, and rotated regularly.
  • Become familiar with SOP manual and Policies & Procedures.
  • Routinely clean the kitchen area and keep equipment and utensils clean and sanitary.
  • Oversee food levels and restock items on time.
  • Remove trash as necessary.
  • Assist with in-home deliveries as needed.
  • Work at farmers' markets and other local events.
Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or suitable alternative.
  • Successfully complete Servsafe training and exam (provided by Cafe Baby).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Excellent understanding of food preparation fundamentals.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions.
  • Sound understanding of food allergies and foodborne illnesses.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Available to work at least 15 hours per week.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to effectively listen to, assist and provide product recommendations to parents/caregivers who are seeking guidance and recommendations from Cafe Baby at the store and events.
  • Hourly rate of $12.00 to $14.00 depending on experience.
