About Our Family
We're a busy, active family of five with three young children and a household that runs on full schedules, after-school activities, and a whole lot of love. Both parents work from home the majority of the time, which means the house is always in motion. One parent has a hybrid schedule with occasional quarterly travel, and the other runs an entrepreneurial business in addition to a primary remote role. Life here is warm, collaborative, and full, and we're looking for someone who can bring calm, structure, and consistency to the everyday.
We already have monthly house cleaners in place, so this role isn't about scrubbing floors - it's about keeping the household humming between those cleans: resetting spaces, owning meals, managing the logistics that pile up, and being a reliable, trusted presence for the kids when we need backup. After school, things can get intense with sports, activities, and the general beautiful chaos of raising three kids. A great week looks like walking into a tidy kitchen, dinner ready to reheat, laundry done, and knowing someone who truly gets our family is in our corner.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
You are the kind of person who walks into a home and immediately sees what needs to happen - and just handles it. You don't wait to be told. You're warm, friendly, and easy to be around, but you're also deeply independent and take real ownership of your responsibilities. You thrive on creating order in places that feel chaotic, and you find satisfaction in systems that actually work.
You're organized - more organized than most - and you naturally look ahead. You understand what's on the schedule next week before anyone else does. You're comfortable around children and trusted with them, and you know intuitively how to balance getting tasks done while keeping an eye on the kids when needed. You're collaborative and communicative without being overly chatty, and you respect a household's values around technology and screen time without being asked twice. You bring professionalism, discretion, and a steady, proactive energy to everything you do.
Key Responsibilities
Family Support
  • Provide light backup childcare on an as-needed basis, including early dismissals (approximately once per month) and ad hoc support during the school day
  • Assist with date night coverage approximately once per month
  • Prep backpacks, clothing, snacks, and sports equipment ahead of school and activity days

Meal Support
  • Take full ownership of meal prep, approximately 4 dinners per week - some fully ready to serve, others prepped and ready to reheat
  • Pack meals and snacks for on-the-go evenings when the family schedule is packed
  • Batch cook breakfast items weekly and prep healthy snacks for the children
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization as part of meal prep routine

Household Organization & Maintenance
  • Create and maintain household organizational systems, identifying efficiencies wherever possible
  • Perform daily resets of key areas including the kitchen, mudroom, and living room (i.e. picking up/organizing toys in the basement, living room, and throughout the house)
  • Prepare the home for monthly cleaners and coordinate with them on deep cleaning needs as they arise
  • Manage organizational projects including the storage room, pantry, children's closets, garage, and the guest room closet
  • Assist with seasonal décor swaps - sourcing, refreshing, and storing décor each season
  • Support event, holiday, and guest prep as needed
  • Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel
  • Manage garage seasonal organization, including bikes, strollers, and outdoor play equipment

Laundry & Linens
  • Take full ownership of family laundry from start to finish: washing & drying, folding, and putting away
  • Manage weekly rotation of linens and towels
  • Keep the laundry area tidy and well stocked

Inventory & Errands
  • Manage weekly Walmart delivery orders and conduct in-person Costco and Target runs as needed
  • Manage household supply lists, subscriptions, and Amazon orders
  • Handle all mail and package management: opening, sorting, putting away, and breaking down boxes for recycling
  • Assist with gift shopping and occasional returns
  • Own full logistics for children's birthday parties and family events, including invitations, décor, and supplies

Vehicle Upkeep
  • Perform weekly clean-out and organization of the family vehicle
  • Schedule and transport the family vehicle for routine maintenance appointments

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support
  • Maintain visibility into the family's Google Calendar and household whiteboard calendar
  • Coordinate appointments for the children, including doctors, dentists, and haircuts
  • Assist with travel planning and logistics
  • Provide general administrative support as household needs evolve
  • Mail and package handling including bringing mail and packages in and sorting and getting rid of non-important pieces

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects
  • Own weekly fridge rotation and clean-out
  • Coordinate with house cleaners when deep cleans are needed
  • Assist with snow removal, including shoveling and snowblower operation, particularly during family travel
