Reports To: Director of Private Events and Private Events Manager

Based In: Cincinnati, Ohio

Type: Part-Time

Pay Rate: $20/hr

Position Summary:

If you're looking to continue your part-time job with a unique twist, added responsibility and growth, you might be interested in the position of Private Events Captain. This job involves working as a leader for private events, such as weddings, corporate events, and other special occasions. The ideal candidate for this role will have a positive attitude and a natural leadership style, as they'll be responsible for preparing the bar prior to the event and overseeing and closing the event and ensuring everything runs smoothly. A strong sense of customer service is also a must, as the captain will be interacting with guests and working to make their experience as enjoyable as possible. Overall, this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and is looking for growth within their existing part time position with Rhinegeist.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist Event Coordinators with all needs during and after events.
  • Professionally and positively interact with clients amp; vendors
  • Executing all events successfully to the high standards that our team has put in place.
  • Confidently take on the “point of contact” role during events, and manage those events for the duration.
  • Properly prepare amp; appropriately serve beverages to private event guests.
  • Assist with barback duties when needed.
  • Set up amp; break down event spaces, bars, kitchen and restrooms.
  • Prepare thorough event amp; staff reviews within the appropriate time frame.
  • Communicate with the Event Manager and Event Coordinator following an event.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of hospitality experience. Server/bartender experience is a plus!
  • Must have at least 2 days of availability each week - Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to remain calm and quickly solve problems in stressful situations.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly, helpful, knowledgeable amp; confident manner.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and appropriately stocked.
  • Properly amp; efficiently run bar service based on individual event needs.
  • Work as a team with all Rhinegeist event staff to ensure that every client amp; guest receives the best experience possible.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift anywhere between 5 lbs - 50+ lbs multiple times per day - using carts/dollies to transport from space to space
