Their tasks often include managing budgets, coordinating with vendors, arranging logistics, and ensuring that the event runs smoothly. Working part-time allows them flexibility, which can be ideal for balancing other commitments or pursuing multiple projects. To thrive as a Part Time Event Manager, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in event planning, often supported by a relevant degree or prior event management experience. Job description

Description

Become a part of the team behind the team.

As employees of the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Quarter, we do more than basketball. We are blazing trails toward winning championships on and off the court.

We are pioneers and innovators. We look for people who push boundaries, dream big, and are committed to inclusivity — people who want to contribute to Rip City!

We’re bringing our parking operations in-house for the first time — and that means we’re building a brand-new team from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting transition and help shape how parking runs at our venue. Whether you're leading a crew, welcoming guests, or keeping things moving outside, you’ll play a key role in creating a smooth, safe, and positive experience for everyone who visits.

As our Event Parking Cashier, you will play a key role in welcoming guests by providing excellent customer service and processing payments in and around garages. You will ensure smooth and secure transactions while supporting an inclusive and friendly event environment.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Interviews for this position will be conducted on August 26, 2026. If you are selected to move on to the interview stage, further details will be provided via email.

Selected candidates post-interview will be expected to commence their new role on September 15, 2026.

DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Greet and assist guests and staff in a fast-paced environment
  • Handle cash and cashless transactions in and out of the garages
  • Handle all guest and staff interactions in a friendly and professional manner
  • Stay updated on building information and communicate policies
  • Manage gate entries and staff parking passes to help maintain a secure campus

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:

  • Are at least 18 years of age
  • Can work a flexible, event-based schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Can understand and communicate conversational English
  • Demonstrate professional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Can be on your feet and moving around the venue for several hours at a time
  • Work effectively with people of different backgrounds and abilities

WE’D BE THRILLED IF YOU ALSO HAVE:

  • At least one year of customer service experience
  • At least one year of cash handling experience

Offers of employment are conditional upon the successful results of a background check. Qualified applicants with criminal histories will be considered on an individual basis.

The Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Quarter embraces diversity and inclusion. We celebrate individual expression and uniqueness on our campus and do not tolerate harassment or discrimination. We are committed to hiring individuals who reflect the community we serve without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, disability, genetic information, or other legally protected characteristics. We are an equal opportunity employer.

We provide reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities throughout the hiring process. Please contact us to request accommodation.

PERKS:

We invest in our employees inside and outside of work. Perks for our part-time teammates include:

  • Target salary: $19.50 per hour
  • Retirement plan
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Free parking and discounted mass transit passes (50% off)
  • Discounted tickets for select events
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
