Project Configuration Analyst (Part-Time)

KBR Inc., in support of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Volpe Center,has an exciting opportunity fora Project Configuration Analyst with subject matter expertise in FAA airspace design. The position, based in Cambridge, MA, supports the developmentof Air Traffic Management (ATM)concepts and systems aiming at increasing the capacity and efficiency of National Airspace System(NAS). KBR Inc. supports the U.S. Department of Transportation's Volpe Center with the development and evaluation ofreal-time communication, navigation, surveillance, and decision support systems to support aviation operations throughout the nationand the world.Our team specializes in planning, researching, testing, and evaluating the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen). Our work helps the Federal Aviation Administration(FAA)improve safety, alleviate air traffic congestion, and mitigate environmental impacts.The selected candidate will join a dynamicmultidisciplinary teamoperating in an agile and fast paced environment and utilizing state-of-the-art technologies (e.g.: cloud,big data).

**Candidate must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and have resided in the United States for 3 out of the last 5 years**

Responsibilities

This position will provide subject matter expertise on airspace design to modernize the current set of airspace design tools and lead the development.

RequiredQualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering preferred)
  • Expertise in FAA configuration management practices
  • Expertise in FAA Lifecycle configuration and system management
  • Expertise in FAA project lifecycle costing
  • Able to work independently
  • Superior communication skills

DesiredQualifications

  • Understanding of documentation needed for FAA projects
  • Able to manage the lifecycle management and costs of FAA projects

Basic Compensation:
$60.00 - $90.00

This pay range applies to Cambridge, MA location only.


The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.
