Job description

Overview

We currently have an opening for a part-time Environmental Services Tech (Housekeeper) to join our Portland, OR team. Must have basic knowledge of good housekeeping and laundry practices. Must have the interpersonal skills necessary to work well with others and communicate appropriately with other departments. Capable of evaluating the quality of the services that we provide. Necessary to follow Universal Precautions, Infection Control and Safety guidelines.

Schedule: Part Time

Compensation range: The hired applicant's placement within the range is based on professional experience and internal equity.


Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates required cleaning procedures in accordance with established Job Procedures for assigned work area(s)
  • Demonstrates correct use of required waste-disposal procedures in accordance with applicable Environmental Services Department policy (ies)
  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to accurately follow verbal, written, and pictorial instructions
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to correctly and safely operate and care for housekeeping equipment per Housekeeping Equipment List filed in Environmental Services Office. Able to identify and report equipment malfunctions/needs for repairs
  • Identifies needs for building repairs in assigned hospital work area(s)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of correct ordering of supplies, required par levels, and distribution of housekeeping supplies in assigned work area(s) (i.e., soaps, cleaning agents, paper products, linens, etc.)
  • Demonstrates correct and safe dilution/mixing and use of cleaning agents approved/required for use in assigned work area(s)

Required

  • 1 year experience in environmental services/housekeeping or laundry
