This is a Sherman Associates owned Hilton franchise location.

The Maintenance position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives is critical to overall success.

Schedule: We are seeking part-time availability to cover shifts on Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday.

Essential Functions

  • General maintenance and upkeep responsibilities including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, light carpentry and painting
  • Responds to open work orders and resolves requests within 24 hours
  • Assists in scheduling and completing preventive maintenance for buildings and building equipment
  • Hands-on work of all building repairs, preventative maintenance and general upkeep of the facility with special attention to more involved operations or projects
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Walks property at regular intervals (daily) to ensure that the property is clean and orderly and in good maintenance condition
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Other tasks as assigned including: plumbing, blueprint, electrical, city codes, environmental initiative and tracking
  • Assists in maintaining sufficient maintenance supply stock
  • Assists in contracting outside vendors and taking bids for special projects or extensive maintenance
  • Obtains approvals for expenditures and maintains budgets
  • Maintains exterior grounds and interior common areas in quality, presentable condition. This will include but is not limited to the following:
    • Picks up trash and keep common areas neat
    • Sweeps walks and curbs
    • Waters lawn, trees, shrubs, and flowerbeds
    • Shovels walks, sand or salt icy areas
    • Performs year-round grounds maintenance, including snow and ice removal
    • Completes additional duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • 1-4 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related carpentry/construction. Ideally in hospitality or a related industry
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environment
  • Special boilers license or willingness to obtain one, if applicable
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO), if applicable
  • Current and valid driver's license required. Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR) and have a safe driving record, if applicable

  • Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health and safety services

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud
  • Frequent exposure to the outdoors is common, including wind, snow/ice, and rain

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
