Job description

The NFL Digital Media Team is seeking an individual passionate about professional sports to lead the team responsible for Digital Ad Insertion for live football games. The Lead DAI Operator will be responsible for coordination and game day supervision of the team responsible for monitoring live game feeds from start to finish and inserting ad cues during commercial breaks. This is a hands-on lead position that will on occasion be responsible for performing DAI Operator responsibilities such as inserting ads into live games or other live video programing. 

The role includes performing as a DAI Operator, inserting breaks and monitoring performance of ad delivery using a variety of visual and data reporting sources. The team's focus is on continuous improvement in their ability to understand and measure the overall effectiveness of the ad delivery system, through evolving tools, processes and capabilities. 

Responsibilities

As DAI Lead Operator: 

  • Schedule DAI Operators for Live Game Coverage. 
  • Distribute Game Format Sheets and other assignment information. 
  • Address any Operator-specific equipment, logistics or access issues. 
  • Supervise all aspects of ad delivery performance, including accuracy, analytics generation and performance metric reporting. 
  • Lead Operator conference calls. 
  • Supervise break assignments, schedule changes and other real-time events during game windows. 
  • Communicate any issues to appropriate parties. 
  • Direct and perform application and system testing of ad delivery as directed.  

As DAI Operator: 

  • Monitor Live Game Video for commercial breaks and compare broadcast feed to digital distribution. 
  • Perform as a either a primary operator or as a backup. 
  • Monitor listen-only lines for commercial break instructions. 
  • Follow Ad Break program guides and calculate break durations and break insertion points. 
  • Report any issues to appropriate NFL management via established procedures. 
  • As directed, monitor and generate ad delivery performance metrics and provide immediate notification of any delivery anomalies detected.  
  • Perform application and system testing of ad delivery as directed.  
  • In a lead capacity, monitor and generate ad delivery performance metrics and provide immediate notification of any delivery anomalies detected. 

Required Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma; GED or equivalency (Some college, no degree required)  
  • Proven experience working with computers in an office environment. 
  • Experience working in a Lead role and/or supervisory capacity. 
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Applications (Word, Excel, PP, Outlook) in PC or MAC. 
  • Working knowledge of email, slack and web browsers in PC or MAC  
  • Strong communication and analysis skills 
  • Must be extremely organized and detail-oriented with the ability to follow through on multi-step instructions. 
  • General availability for Sunday and other peak event Game Days during the NFL Football season - refer to nfl.com/schedule for specific dates. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors, or Associate degree preferred 
  • Prior experience working for the NFL. 
  • Previous experience working in live TV/broadcast environments (production, stage, etc.) is preferred. 
  • Management experience is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with Ad insertion 
  • Availability on non-Game Days a consideration. 
  • Availability for occasional in-office work is a consideration.

  • Must possess a strong work ethic, positive workplace approach and work well with others. 
  • Passionate sports-fan, knowledgeable about football (preferred not required). 
  • Punctuality is must in this position. 

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a remote position
  • Up to 7 months of employment based on business needs
  • Part-time - Must be available for 4 hour (min) to 8 hour (max) shifts on NFL Gamedays (Monday, Thursday, Sunday) and holidays where schedule applies (Thanksgiving, etc.)
  • Occasional overtime as needed and approved.
