Description
The Meals on Wheels Driver will deliver meals to all sites and clients in a safe and efficient manner. The Meals on Wheels Driver will also maintain all MIFA policies and procedures and adhere to the vehicle operations manual. This job is a part-time opportunity @26 hours per week._Monday-Thursday.
Requirements
Timely ensure accuracy in meal counts and deliver meals to seniors, log meal deliveries, following safety protocols during loading, and report issues in the Mobile Meals app.
  • Check hot and cold meals count for accuracy against the assigned route
  • Using proper lifting techniques (bending knees, using two hands, feet firmly planted)
  • Load supplies and food containers into the van in a timely manner
  • Ensure all temperature-controlled food devices are clean and working properly
  • Log in to the Mobile Meals Application for assigned route details
  • Maintain time schedule so meals arrive in a timely manner
  • Run route within rated time (not to exceed 5 hours and 30 minutes daily unless authorized in advance)
  • Return empty temperature-controlled devices and used utensils daily when returning from your route or the assigned route in the mobile app.
  • Confirm all delivered/non-delivered meals.
  • Document any changes in the Mobile App or challenges and sign the signature page, submit, and log out.
  • Communicate effectively with the Supervisor on route changes needed, problems, etc.
  • Willing to drive/deliver at congregate or HDM sites as needed
  • Cross-train on various routes and document monthly wellness checks in the Mobile App to document the living needs of clients

Maintain effective communication with the supervisor about route changes and conduct wellness checks for clients.
  • Complete daily Pre-Trip and Post- Trip inspection to ensure vehicle safety using the WhipAround app.
  • Complete the Odometer reading using the WhipAround app.
  • Maintain appropriate fuel levels and secure assigned gas cards.
  • Maintain daily cleanliness of vehicles, picking up any trash or debris inside
  • Follow all driving rules and regulations while driving on the road, and around the facility
  • Report any traffic violations or incidents immediately
  • Must adhere to the federal, local, state, and agency regulations while operating a MIFA vehicle.
  • Report to Supervisor immediately any maintenance needs
  • Display professional customer service ability amongst co-workers, clients, and other drivers on the roadway

Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance by attending required meetings, maintaining time and route logs, tracking donations, verifying meal deliveries, and ensuring accuracy in meal counts and adherence to funding source requirements.
  • Attend Monthly Meetings (safety, training, company updates, new procedures)
  • Sign in and out daily utilizing Paylocity to maintain accurate timesheet records with accurate times.
  • Complete Route Sheets, using the Mobile App to indicate meals delivered or not delivered, time of delivery, or attempted delivery.
  • Call office immediately if client does not answer when trying to deliver a meal, or office to get a second verification
  • Secure donations and log in by office personnel to verify donation amounts
  • Congregate- ensure all food is accounted for by checking sites, verifying each cooler/Cambros for hot meals, desserts, beverage mix, and bread and verify before signing off on TRIO meal forms. Every congregate site has serving times for clients and must deliver meals before the serving time for each congregate site. (This is directly related to funding source requirements).
  • Verify matches with the route sheet, count hot meals in the cooler to make sure they match the number of meals on the route sheet. (This is directly related to funding source requirements).
  • Signing in and out daily on the Mobile Meals Application

Exception: Hotline Representatives who work on-call seven days a week and after hours.

Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Position may also require ongoing or periodic exposure to high-crime environments.
