Job Purpose
The Plant Controller works as a strategic business partner with site management to manage business in accordance with laws and regulations related to General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This key position is responsible for a broad range of accounting and finance functions.

Education / Training
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's degree preferred;
• CPA or CMA certification preferred or ability to obtain certification within one year in the role.
Key Job Elements
• Perform month end accounting closing tasks and reconciliation;
• Budget and forecasting duties for assigned area;
• Prepare, present and analyze financials;
• Produce timely and accurate financial statements;
• Review and analyze open receivables for assigned area;
• Accounts payable and receivable processing;
• Assist operations in preparation of financials as needed;
• Monthly, quarterly and annual duties such as backlog, revenue reporting, etc.;
• Process and manage customer invoicing for assigned area.
Advanced duties and responsibilities:
• May be responsible for capital expenditures, inventory control and product costing;
• Ensure compliance with SOX;
• Supervise staff members.
Qualifications and Experience
• 5+ years of experience in an accounting leadership role;
• Cost accounting knowledge and experience;
• Ability to work with internal and external customers at all levels;
• Experience presenting accounting and financial information;
• Expert knowledge and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems;
• Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
• Experience and ability to lead and direct the work of others;
• Experience working in a manufacturing, accounting environment;
• Strong analytical, problem-solving.
Essential and Physical Activities Functions
• Strength - Position typically involves work in a standard office environment. Occasional standing and
walking. Heavy lifting is rare but may be required;
• Motion - Position regularly requires standard repetitive motions and hand/eye coordination associated
with office communications. May require bending, lifting, standing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, walking,
etc. in cases where Safety investigations require them;
• Vision/Hearing Requirements - Constant verbal communications, including both talking and hearing;
• Work Environment - Position may involve occasional work in a non-temperature-controlled facility.
Position will require occasional visits to industrial environment, including potential for noise (85+
decibels), frequent exposure to cold and temperature changes, exposure to hazardous materials, heavy
equipment, high levels of dust, and other hazardous working conditions. May be required to remain for
long periods of time in hazardous work environments to investigate and mitigate accidents/incidents;
• Emotional Demands - Responsible for audits and reporting. Requires interpersonal skills and
communication;
• Safety - Position required to follow all safety guidelines and requirements.
