Job description

Voyago is hiring one Part-Time Dispatcher for our Transit Operations in the Greater Niagara Region to fill a current vacancy. As an onsite Dispatcher for our On Demand Service, you will take pride in playing a key role in ensuring the independence and mobility of our city's most vulnerable passengers. Your efforts will directly contribute to their ability to access essential services, appointments, and daily activities safely and comfortably by delivering excellent customer service, care and respect.ย 


Your Role

You will be responsible for responding to calls quickly and efficiently, while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor during critical situations.

  • You are responsible for the dispatch of drivers and providing accurate direction
  • You are responsible for a high degree of customer service
  • You thrive in a fast paced high stress environment
  • You will provide on demand support to drivers and manage the on-demand RideCo software
  • You will communicate with clients and drivers and work to fill all shifts
  • This is a unionized position
  • $20.40 per hour

Shift Details:

Friday & Saturday, 3:00pm-11:30pm

Requirements

Your Profile

  • You have proven dispatch experience
  • You are an active listener with sound judgement
  • You have high proficiency in typing and computer skills (including MS Office Suite)
  • You have strong, proven customer service experience
  • You can take responsibility for the Emergency Response Plan in the event of a serious collision
  • You can utilize the radio to communicate clearly and effectively with all en-route drivers
  • You can clearly identify all runs and drivers active on routes are on time
  • You are able to pull a variety of reports as per the Dispatch Supervisor directive
  • You can answer phones, fax, and email correspondence in a professional and courteous manner
  • You can obtain a clean Criminal Record Search
  • You have excellent time and Stress Management skills
  • You are dependable and have exceptional organization and communications skills
  • Your experience working with RideCo or any other cloud based on demand transit software would be an asset
  • Your understanding of the transportation industry, especially in an on-demand capacity would be an asset
  • You can multitask effectively and efficiently
