Description
The Dougherty County Police Department is hiring on a continuous basis for a Part Time Clerk Dispatcher. The purpose of this position is to support to officers and supervisors in the field by continuously monitoring radio/dispatched calls and continuously relaying information.
This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.
Essential Tasks
โ€ข Answers emergency telephone calls and gathers information to be dispatched.
โ€ข Answers general calls from the public and assists with information.
โ€ข Dispatches emergency and non-emergency calls and maintains radio log.
โ€ข Types incident and accident reports and transcribes reports prepared by officers in the field.
โ€ข Enters and retrieves data on computer database; prepares news release for media.
โ€ข Maintains case number files; processes traffic citations; transcribes detective interviews.
โ€ข Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualification
โ€ข High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
โ€ข Two (2) years of clerical or dispatching experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
