This position focuses on identifying, creating, distributing, and publishing content to the NHL's digital platforms. The ideal candidate is a digital expert who is passionate about sports content-from conception and creation to publishing and delivery-and understands the importance of SEO, grammar, accuracy, aesthetics, and punctuality in creating a brand that keeps fans engaged. Not only do they understand the nuances of desktop, mobile, app, and social, but they also understand the game of hockey, the NHL's players and teams, statistics, history, and what separates the NHL from other sports and entertainment entities.
Lastly, this candidate has their finger on the pulse of the entertainment world and spends their free time immersing themselves in podcasts, social spaces, and niche media or consuming short-and long-form content that puts them in a position to help the NHL grow the game of hockey.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Creating SEO-based copy for NHL video highlights and features.
  • Video thumbnail creation and editing to increase impressions.
  • Populating NHL channels with VOD content across platforms.
  • Utilizing internal AI software to produce real-time NHL video content.
  • Developing an SEO strategy for titles, descriptions, and keywords on NHL platforms.
  • Management and upkeep of internal and external content streams.
  • Managing various streams of communications linking internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaising between the NHL and partners to ensure the delivery of content.
  • Monitoring sports-media trends to make content decisions for the NHL's Youtube page.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience

Required
  • Must have at least 3+ years of SEO experience
  • Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite, or similar applications

Preferred
  • SEO certification
  • Adobe Certified Professional certificate

Required Skills
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to execute on feedback
  • Experience managing a YouTube channel for a sports brand or media organization
  • Experience with YouTube analytics (or similar program), with the ability to interpret the data and translate it into engagement opportunities
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NHL at an expert level, with passion for the storylines surrounding its players, coaches, teams, statistics, standings, and history
  • Ability to work on deadlines in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously with a composed, precise, and detail-oriented approach

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, as this position requires working days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on the NHL calendar

SALARY RANGE:
$28 per hour
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
