Job description

NAT-SU Healthcare is seeking a part-time Registered Dietitian to join our team. The Dietitian will be responsible for assessing patient and clients’ nutritional needs, developing and implementing nutrition programs and providing dietary advice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess the nutritional needs of patients and clients.
  • Create personalized meal plans based on the individual patient(s)/client(s) nutritional needs.
  • Provide coaching and counseling to patient(s)/client(s) on dietary habits.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition plans for the patients and clients.
  • Educate patient(s)/client(s) on healthy eating habits and nutritional lifestyle choices.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient/client care.
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy that promotes health and disease prevention.
  • Provide diabetes self-management education and support.
  • Maintain necessary documentation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the need for healthy lifestyle behaviors to adults and children.
  • Accurately monitor and document patient/client progress.
  • Provide group nutritional educational classes when requested.
  • Work as part of the clinical team.

Required Qualifications and Preferences:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics Certification required, Master’s Degree preferred,
  • 2+ years’ experience as a registered dietician.
  • Must be a current Registered Dietitian in good standing with the Commission of Dietetic Registration.
  • Must have and maintain a current valid certification in Utah.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Clinical Dietitian experience required in self-management of diabetes in an outpatient setting.

Position: Part-time Non-Exempt (24hrs/week)

Hourly Rate: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour

This position is subject to Native American/Alaskan Native preference. Indian Preference applies in accordance with P.L. 93-638 and other applicable laws. Applicants claiming Indian Preference must submit documentation of enrollment in a federally recognized tribe.
