Job Summary
[Confidential] is seeking a motivated Industrial Engineering Intern to support manufacturing improvement initiatives at our Bowling Green, KY facility. This position offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced automotive production environment, providing exposure to industrial engineering principles, lean manufacturing practices, process optimization, and continuous improvement activities.
The Industrial Engineering Intern will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and production teams to analyze data, observe processes, and support operational improvements focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting and analyzing production, labor, and process data to identify opportunities for workflow and efficiency improvements.
- Observe manufacturing operations and document current processes, work balance, and operational sequences.
- Participate in continuous improvement and waste elimination initiatives using lean manufacturing principles.
- Assist with documenting process changes, improvement recommendations, and implementation activities.
- Support time studies, motion analysis, and standardized work evaluations.
- Provide technical and analytical support to manufacturing, maintenance, and production teams.
- Assist with plant layout projects and facility planning using AutoCAD.
- Help maintain accurate records and reports related to engineering and operational activities.
