Role Summary

An Associate Mental Health Therapist provides outpatient therapy services under clinical supervision while working toward full licensure. Success in this role includes delivering high-quality care, building a consistent caseload, and meeting all supervision and documentation requirements in accordance with state licensure regulations. 

Associate Therapist Responsibilities: under direct supervision of a Licensed Clinician: 

  • Conduct assessments of bio-psycho-social needs and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide individual, family, and/or couples outpatient psychotherapy services using evidence-based modalities
  • Actively seek parent and/or patient feedback regarding programming and therapy goals
  • W-2 Part Time: Maintain an active caseload of a minimum of 15 clients per week required
  • Complete clinical documentation accurately and within required timelines
  • Participate in required individual and/or group clinical supervision
  • Follow ethical standards, licensing board rules, and organizational policies

Requirements:

Associate Therapist Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted license: ACSW, AMFT, APCC in California
  • Master's Degree from an accredited program in a counseling-related field, such as Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology.
  • Strong background in evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT)
  • Ability to provide therapy independently
  • Comfort using an EHR and telehealth platforms
  • Experience conducting psychotherapy with specific populations (children, adolescents, trauma, couples, etc.)
  • Experience in outpatient or group practice settings
