About the role:

BSI is seeking apart-time Consulting Specialistto provide technical support for a client'sSafety, Health & Environment (SHE) management systemsand data analytics initiatives at their manufacturing facility inFrederick, MD.

This role is ideal for an experienced data management professional with advanced expertise inPower BI, SharePoint, Excel, and the Microsoft Power Platform. The successful candidate will work closely with client stakeholders to develop dashboards, manage SHE data systems, administer SharePoint sites, and support reporting and communication initiatives that improve operational visibility and compliance.

This is an onsite, part-time consulting opportunity located in Frederick, Maryland.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize SHE metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Perform data modeling, Power Query transformations, and DAX calculations to support reporting and analytics.
  • Connect and manage data from multiple sources, including SharePoint, enterprise databases, and SHE management systems.
  • Publish and maintain Power BI reports, including workspace management, scheduled refreshes, permissions, and row-level security.
  • Partner with client stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver meaningful data visualizations.
  • Administer SHE data management systems, including user access, permissions, troubleshooting, and system maintenance.
  • Analyze SHE data to identify trends, generate metrics, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and enhance SharePoint sites, document libraries, lists, and content.
  • Configure SharePoint permissions, Microsoft 365 Groups, and site administration.
  • Develop digital forms using Power Apps and automate business processes using Power Automate.
  • Create automated workflows, notifications, approvals, and alerts to improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor SharePoint usage, site analytics, and system performance.
  • Support SHE communications through dashboards, reports, presentations, and management system documentation.
  • Ensure all deliverables are accurate, professional, and completed in a timely manner.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • 2+ years of experience in data analytics, data management, business intelligence, or a related technical support role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including dashboard development, DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
  • Strong experience administering SharePoint Online, including site management, permissions, document libraries, and modern pages.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience managing enterprise data and producing meaningful business metrics and dashboards.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience supporting Safety, Health & Environment (SHE/EHS) programs or regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Microsoft Power BI certification is a plus.
