Data Visualization & Analytics Support 212 W 2nd St, Winona, MN 55987 HEADD Part-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm
10 - 28 hours/week OVERVIEW: Working as Part-time Data Visualization & Analytics Support, you will assist in reporting and business process activities within the Data Analytics department, while also gaining knowledge and skills in more technical aspects of the department's roles. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Assisting various analysts on the team to complete projects, provide answers to business questions and information to reduce decision making uncertainty within the organization o Supporting visualization and reporting projects to provide end users with quality and effective information in an intuitive manner o Supporting analytics projects and predictive modeling based on varying sources of available customer and sales data. These projects will provide understanding in areas such as Market Basket, Location Effectiveness, Customer Segmentation, In-Branch Experience, Employee Performance, Product Mix and Inventory Effectiveness o Carrying out various business processes within the team that support company initiatives, including data entry and data processing tasks, communication with various other departments and personnel and documentation of ongoing project details o Assisting in research to determine the "why" behind the numbers and to generate hypotheses for further research o Reviewing and summarizing large amounts of data while maintaining a high level of accuracy o Learning and applying skills and techniques such as linear and logistic regression, decision trees, multivariate analysis, segmentation analysis and time series modeling o Gaining expertise on multiple analytical and reporting tools and leveraging them to optimize speed and quality of project deliverables as you progress in the position REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o 18 years of age or older o Possess a High School diploma or GED o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Demonstrate strong attention to detail o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment o Maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information o Highly motivated and self-directed and customer service oriented o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o At least 1 year of experience in a professional business environment o Possess or working towards a degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Finance or Business Administration or a related field of study o Experience with analytical and statistical software packages such as R, SQL, PowerBI, SAS, SPSS, JMP or similar software ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
