Job description

Job Title: Young Dancer Instructor (Ages 2-6), YMCA

Description: The YMCA of Greater St Petersburg's Dance Academy is looking for qualified, reliable dance instructors for young dancer classes in ballet, tap & hip hop for beginner levels for our growing dance program. Y Dance Academy (YDA) is a large non-profit dance program offering classes in all genres, including an award winning competition team, technique classes, and a large end of year performance for all students. Students have the option of pursuing dance competitively or as a recreational passion.
We will be creating the schedule for next season based on availability, including days/times/locations.

Requirements:

  • Instructors must have previous experience teaching a variety of dance genres to all age levels.
  • References are required and videos of past work preferred.
  • Part-time schedule with afternoon availability during the week. Program day/time may be flexible around candidates' schedules.
  • All instructors teach technique classes as well as choreograph for the end of year performance.
  • The YMCA offers opportunities for long term growth, benefits and competitive pay to the most qualified.
  • Must be able to work independently, have excellent relationship building skills and a passion for teaching dance in a great work atmosphere.
  • Pass a 10-panel urinalysis drug screen
  • Clear a Level 2 background check*

Locations: The candidate will work at one of YMCA Greater St. Petersburg locations depending on schedule

Pay & Perks: $18.00-$22.00/hour, part-time. Free YMCA membership for self and discount for household family members.
