What is a part time customer success?

A Part Time Customer Success role involves assisting customers with their inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring they have a positive experience with a company's products or services, all on a part-time schedule. These professionals act as the main point of contact for customers, helping them maximize the value they receive and fostering long-term relationships. Duties may include answering questions, providing product guidance, troubleshooting problems, and collecting feedback. Working part-time typically means fewer hours per week compared to a full-time position, offering more flexibility for the employee.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time customer success professional?

To thrive as a Part Time Customer Success professional, you need strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and a background in customer service or account management. Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce or Zendesk and basic proficiency in support ticketing systems are often required. Excellent communication, active listening, and adaptability are important soft skills for building rapport with customers and resolving issues efficiently. These skills and qualities are essential for maintaining high customer satisfaction, retention, and positive brand reputation in a flexible work setting.

How does a part time customer success professional effectively manage client relationships with limited weekly hours?

Part-time Customer Success professionals often focus on high-priority clients and tasks, using strong organizational and communication skills to maximize their impact within limited hours. They typically rely on efficient use of CRM tools, clear documentation, and proactive communication to ensure smooth handoffs and follow-ups. Balancing responsiveness and task prioritization is key to building strong relationships and supporting customer retention even in a part-time capacity.

Job description

Job Title: Garden Center Cashier
Location: Kansas City, MO
Status: Part-Time, Full-Time, Hourly, Daytime and Some Weekend Availability
Reporting Relationship: Store Manager
Work Schedule: Hours vary by season.

The Grass Pad is hiring Part-Time and Day-Time Cashiers to work in our Barry Road location.

When people visit the Grass Pad, they are greeted by smiling faces and a friendly attitude. In the role of Cashier, you’re likely to be the first and the last person to interact with the customer. The Grass Pad specializes in answering questions and helping customers find the right products – while you won’t be responsible for answering every customer question, you will need to know where to find the answers.  We pride ourselves in the service that we offer all our customers, from commercial clients to people starting lawn care for the first time.

This position has the potential to evolve into a supervisory role.

This job might be for you if:

You have a great attitude. We want our customers to enjoy shopping with us, and every person at the Grass Pad contributes to that experience.
You enjoy talking to people. As a cashier you will interact with most customers that walk through the door.
Like working in an open air, green environment.
Enjoy being around plants and the outdoors.
You have excellent attention to detail and can handle multiple tasks at once.
You have experience as a cashier.
Have a green thumb or are interested in gardening or lawn care.

Bonus: You have an artistic flair and enjoy merchandising products.

As a Cashier, your typical day might include:

  • Greeting customers as they walk through the door and directing them towards a salesperson.
  • Answering the telephone in a courteous and professional manner and directing phone calls to the correct stations.
  • Making radio callouts to the customer service staff to ensure customers are properly served.
  • Accurately and quickly handling cash, check and credit card transactions with a variety of customers.
  • Handling transactions for commercial customers, including using appropriate tax codes and charge accounts.
  • Assisting with design and merchandising of the sales floor, including setting up promotional displays and writing signage.
  • Restocking shelves and keeping products clean and orderly.
  • Counting in and out the drawers at the beginning and end of each day.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Engaging in conversation with the customer to add a personal touch to each transaction.
  • Understanding our main products and quickly explaining their benefits to customers.
  • Assisting with clerical duties like stocking shelves, pricing items and housekeeping duties.
  • Operating a computer-based point of sale system and other office equipment.
