Position Summary

Shining Stars Montessori Academy Public Charter School is seeking a caring and dedicated Part-Time Third-Year Kindergarten Guide to support students during their critical kindergarten year within a Montessori Childrens House primary environment.

The Guide will provide targeted academic support, enrichment, and small-group instruction to third-year kindergarten students while supporting independence, school readiness, literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional growth.

Essential Responsibilities

Instruction & Student Support

  • Provide engaging small-group and individualized instruction for third-year primary kindergarten students.
  • Support literacy, math, executive functioning, and social-emotional development and preparation for first grade and stepping up to first grade..
  • Reinforce Montessori lessons and classroom expectations in collaboration with the Lead Guide. and the Montessori Academic Dean
  • Foster independence, concentration, confidence, and positive peer interactions.
  • Maintain accurate student progress documentation and communication records.

Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with classroom staff, specialists, and school leadership to support student learning goals.
  • Participate in required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development as scheduled.
  • Maintain professional communication with families and colleagues.
  • Uphold all school policies and expectations related to safety, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Family Engagement

  • Support positive relationships with families through ongoing communication and student updates.
  • Assist with conferences, progress monitoring, and family engagement activities as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in education or related field
  • Experience working with young children
  • Commitment to Montessori philosophy and child-centered learning
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Eligibility to work in the United States

Preferred

  • Montessori training or credential
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Experience in early childhood or kindergarten settings
