Part-Time Physical Therapy Core Faculty - Continuum Care/Cardiopulmonary Practice
The Hanover College Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program invites applications for a Part-time Core Faculty member with expertise spanning adult physical therapist practice across the continuum of care and cardiopulmonary practice. This 12-month part-time faculty position provides curricular leadership in adult physical therapist practice with emphasis on cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, acute care, primary care physical therapy, management of medically complex adult patients, differential diagnosis and medical screening, chronic disease management, interprofessional collaborative practice, and evidence-based clinical decision-making integrated throughout the curriculum and culminating in the DPT Capstone course. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty to vertically and horizontally integrate adult practice concepts across the curriculum while supporting innovative hybrid instruction, immersive laboratory education, simulation, clinical reasoning, and scholarly activity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the lead content expert for adult physical therapist practice across the continuum of care.
  • Develop, teach, assess, and continuously improve didactic, laboratory, simulation, and case-based learning experiences.
  • Integrate cardiopulmonary, acute care, primary care, chronic disease management, and complex patient management throughout the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with faculty to ensure vertical and horizontal curricular integration.
  • Teach within Hanover's hybrid educational model using asynchronous, synchronous, and immersive laboratory experiences.
  • Advise and mentor students while supporting student success initiatives.
  • Participate in CAPTE accreditation, assessment, CQI, admissions, recruitment, scholarship, and service.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT/tDPT) or earned terminal academic doctorate appropriate for the position.
  • Minimum of three years of contemporary adult physical therapist practice across one or more continuum-of-care settings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, acute care, primary care, medically complex adult patient management, or related practice areas.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching, student success, and collaborative curriculum development.
  • Licensed or eligible for physical therapist licensure in Indiana.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DHSc, DSc, or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching in a CAPTE-accredited DPT program.
  • Experience with hybrid or online education.
  • Experience with curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Evidence of scholarship related to adult physical therapist practice, healthcare education, or implementation science.
  • Experience with simulation, interprofessional education, and integrated case-based instruction.
