CASCADA PDX

Job description

Description:

Content Creator + Social Storyteller

CASCADA Thermal Springs Spa and Hotel, Portland, Oregon
Full-Time or Part-Time (1099 and/or W2, dependent on qualifications)
About Us:

CASCADA Thermal Springs + Hotel is a wellness focused sustainable boutique hotel and wellness spa in the heart of Portland’s Alberta Arts District. We were just named one of the top 50 best new hotels in the world by Esquire. CASCADA was built to help people slow down, reconnect, and feel something real, with themselves, their community, and the natural world around them. This is the world’s first LEED Platinum designed mass timber hotel, and its world class hydrothermal spa and accommodations give us a one-of-a-kind canvas of soaking pools, sauna, steam, cold plunges, amazing food, and intentionally appointed rooms for one of the best destination resort experiences in the Pacific Northwest. Our mission: build sustainable spaces, goods, and experiences that elevate human wellbeing and deepen our connection to nature. No greenwashing, no stock-photo wellness. The real thing.

The Gig:

You’re the person who shows up on property with a camera and a belief in our vision, and leaves with a reel that stops the scroll. As our Content Creator & Social Storyteller, you’ll own the camera, the edit, and the calendar, capturing CASCADA’s steam, soaks, and quiet moments and turning them into content people want to watch. This is hands-on, on-property, in-the-field work for someone who’s as comfortable shooting at 6am golden hour as they are editing in Cap Cut in the evening.

You’ll partner closely with our marketing and PR team to build a social calendar that reflects what’s happening on property, then go capture it. Behind-the-scenes moments, event coverage, spa rituals, staff stories, guest experiences: you’ll find them, shoot them, edit them, and post them. Bonus points if you can make a steam room look like a mood board.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing:

Content & Shooting

  • Shoot and edit original photo, video, reels, and story content on property, regularly, not just when something’s scheduled that sounds like us, not a brand template
  • Build and run our social content calendar in partnership with the marketing and PR team across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Reddit, and LinkedIn.
  • Keep every post on brand, visually, tonally, and in spirit, while staying fluent in what’s actually trending on each platform.
  • Embed with our spa, fitness, culinary, and hospitality teams to find the stories worth telling, you can’t shoot what you don’t know about.
  • Co-Help manage ambassador and creator relationships and coordinate collaborative campaigns alongside leadership.
  • Write captions with actual personality and respond to DMs and comments like a human, not a brand bot.
  • Track what’s working (and what’s not) and use the data to sharpen the content strategy over time.
  • Bring custom content to key campaigns, launches, partnerships, and announcements as they come up.

On-Property & Events

  • Be on the ground at events, capturing content while making sure the guest experience stays seamless.
  • Repurpose event footage into social-ready content across all our channels.

Cross-Functional Work

  • Partner with the marketing and PR team to bring creative campaigns to life.
  • Make sure every piece of content lines up with CASCADA’s brand identity and the guest experience we’re known for.
  • Contribute to post-event and post-campaign performance reporting.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

What You Bring:

  • Based in (or ready to relocate to) Portland, Oregon.
  • 3+ years creating social content and/or running events for a brand with 25K+ followers across platforms.
  • Strong photo and video shooting and editing chops. Adobe Premiere/Lightroom and Cap Cut preferred, Canva is a plus.
  • Comfortable with scheduling tools like Later, Hootsuite, or Sprout Social.
  • Sharp copywriting instincts and a real point of view in your content.
  • A genuine eye for storytelling, branding, and what makes people stop scrolling.
  • Organized enough to juggle a content calendar, a shoot schedule, and last-minute event coverage without dropping anything.
  • Familiarity with influencer/creator outreach and digital collaborations.
  • A self-starter who’s genuinely excited to make beautiful, meaningful brand content, not just check boxes.
  • Able to work a varied schedule, days, nights, weekends, and the occasional holiday on-site, when the content calls for it.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Bonus Points:

  • Background in boutique hospitality, wellness, lifestyle, travel, or fashion
  • Genuine passion for health, art, personal growth, and community
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and self-leadership.

Audition: If chosen as a strong candidate a part of the process will include an experience exchange, creating content for review by the hiring team. You will get the full CASCADA experience and create content in return.
