Position Summary
The Part time Cook is responsible for preparing high‑quality meals in a fast‑paced kitchen environment while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency. This role ensures that all menu items are prepared according to company standards, supports kitchen operations, and contributes to a positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and portion guidelines.
  • Ensure food quality, taste, presentation, and consistency meet company standards.
  • Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients, equipment, and utensils.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (ovens, grills, fryers, knives, etc.).

Food Safety & Cleanliness

  • Follow all food safety regulations, including proper storage, labeling, and temperature control.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation throughout shifts.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies, including safe food handling procedures.
  • Perform cleaning duties such as dishwashing, sweeping, and equipment cleaning as needed.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service.
  • Communicate any shortages, issues, or concerns to supervisors promptly.
  • Support training of new kitchen team members when required.

Operational Excellence

  • Follow portion control, waste reduction, and cost‑management practices.
  • Assist with inventory rotation and receiving deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards.

    • High school diploma or equivalent. Cook/ Culinary program certificate is an asset.
    • 1–2 years of cooking or kitchen experience in a health care setting preferred
    • Food Handler Certification or equivalent.

    Skills & Abilities

    • Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen safety, and sanitation.
    • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
    • Good time‑management skills; able to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
    • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize under pressure.

    Physical Requirements

    • Able to stand for long periods of time.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
    • Comfortable working around heat, sharp objects, and kitchen equipment.
