The Opportunity:
The Cook of the Long-Term Care residence is responsible for ensuring that proper meals are prepared and served on time and that work areas are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition.
What Is In It For You:
Checks special diet orders for new admissions to ensure they are correct (as required).
Responds to resident or family member concerns and ensures appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority and/or brings to the attention of the Food Services Manager/Supervisor.
Directs Food Services Workers in the performance of their duties and assumes responsibility for the operation of the Food Services Department (as required).
What You Will Need
Prior experience as a Cook preferably in a supervisory capacity.
Current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate.
A minimum of public-school education is required. High school education is preferred.
Must have a diploma/certificate or equivalent in quality food preparation and production.
