Job description


This job opening is for someone willing to "earn while you learn" a new trade as a Radon Mitigation Installer-Assistant at Boulder Edge Inc, located in Sterling, VA.
We are willing to train someone with transferable skill-sets and experience in construction (basic - electrical background, roofing, plumbing).
This growing field of radon mitigation is recession proof because people need a safe and healthy place to live.
Salary starts at $20/hr through training period (1-3 months), then to full-time, however we are open for those with experience, so let's talk
Job Responsibilities:
• Communicate with Field Manager at the office/warehouse to review scheduled jobs and load materials for the day.
• Follow an appointment schedule and maintain communication with Field Manager.
• Communicate with Operations Manager on scheduled job details before (if necessary) and after job completion, supply email to order in timely manner and customer issues.
• Comply with the EPA Radon Mitigation Standard during installation.
• Core concrete, cut building materials in walls and roofs.
• Work in basements, basement crawlspaces and attics.
• Run code compliant wiring to the radon fan. Some electrical experience is a must.
• Utilize safe driving practices with company vehicle.
• Utilize safe working practices with power tools and ladders and occasionally walking a roof.
• Respect private property while performing job duties in people's homes.
• Driving throughout our service area of the DMV.
• Workweek is M-F typically 8:30am-4:00pm but may vary depending on workload.
Requirements:
• Take the initial radon mitigation course and pass the NRPP exam within 90 days of hire
• Clear background check
• Clean driving record (5 years)
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol tests
• Technical knowledge and aptitude with smartphone and email.
