Northgate Resorts owns and manages the most awarded Camp-Resort portfolio in the nation. Our passion is creating family camping memories for our guests – memories that will last a lifetime! We don’t do this as individuals but as a passionate team that cares about making a difference in our guests’ lives. We endeavor to be a highly effective, lean, and fast-moving organization.
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for maintaining the Camp-Resort facilities, structures, and utilities; keeping them operable and in top condition. This is a SEASONAL, full-time or part-time position and reports to the Facilities Manager.
The Maintenance Technician II is the experienced/journey-level class in the series, fully competent to independently perform duties. This class is distinguished from the lower classification of Maintenance Technician I by the relative independence with which tasks are performed.
  • Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of professional, journey-level duties in the installation, modification, design, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and facilities at the Resort.
DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
  • General Duties
    • Monitor and maintain the condition of the Camp-Resort’s property, facilities, and equipment
    • Respond to maintenance requests promptly
    • Assist in planning and executing projects from start to finish
    • Troubleshoot and perform the basic-to-intermediate level repair on various types of equipment:
      • Inspection of buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues
      • Repairing faulty equipment units and damaged structures
      • Assist with the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures
      • Supervision of heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality
      • Conducting periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard
      • Performing general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry
  • Pool Duties
    • Performs water tests multiple times throughout the day
    • Maintains water chemistry and safely handles chemicals
    • Ensures circulation and filtration stays at proper levels
    • Conducts safety inspections daily, documenting and fixing any issues; reporting all unresolved issues immediately
    • Vacuums all pools, cleans all skimmer baskets, and cleans all decks in all areas of the aquatic facilities
    • Works closely with lifeguards to comply with all state and local regulations
    • Maintains all required reports
  • Administrative Duties
    • ​Regularly update Facilities Manager on the status of repairs, preventative maintenance, and other projects
    • Maintains the necessary service records on mechanical and structural systems
    • Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed for park operation, employee relations, timekeeping, and safety. Including ensuring all daily, weekly, and monthly documentation is being completed
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
  • 3-6 years of consistent and professional work experience in a variety of trades
  • Trade certifications and licenses are highly desired
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
