What is the difference between Part Time Computational Design vs Part Time Architectural Drafting?

AspectPart Time Computational DesignPart Time Architectural Drafting
Required SkillsComputational modeling, scripting, parametric designDrafting, CAD software, architectural detailing
Work EnvironmentDesign studios, architecture firms, tech-focused officesArchitectural firms, construction companies, design studios
Common CertificationsNone mandatory, but knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper, or Revit helpfulAutoCAD, Revit certifications often preferred

Part Time Computational Design focuses on using computational tools and scripting to develop innovative design solutions, often involving parametric modeling. In contrast, Part Time Architectural Drafting emphasizes creating detailed technical drawings and plans using CAD software. While both roles support architectural projects, computational design is more tech-driven and conceptual, whereas drafting is more technical and detail-oriented.
