Job description

JOB TITLE: Env Services Assistant - Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, Environmental Services (Part-Time/20 Hours, Days/Including every other weekend)
STATUS: Part Time
LOCATION: Newark-Wayne Community Hospital - 1200 Driving Park Avenue, Newark, NY 14513
DEPARTMENT: Environmental Services
SCHEDULE: 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM, including every other weekend
SUMMARY
Environmental Service is the main defense against serious infections that may linger on surfaces throughout a medical facility. Collaboration between infection prevention and environmental services (EVS) staff limits the prospect of disease transmission within the healthcare environment.
ATTRIBUTES
  • Previous environmental services experience is preferred
  • Ability to understand English
  • Ability to prioritize and follow verbal and written instructions

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Cleaning & Maintenance. Follow a written schedule to complete the approved cleaning process task sheet; dispose of regulated medical waste/trash; set up and/or clean conference rooms and common areas
  • Policy & Procedure. Adhere to all uniform, attendance, departmental, and organizational policies and procedures
  • Prioritization. Display good judgment when prioritizing multiple requests or responsibilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.
