Part-Time Community Support Staff (Youth – Age 17)

Position Type: Part-Time
Hours: 6 hours per week (with opportunity for additional hours as more positions become available in the area)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, patient, and supportive individual to work one-on-one with a 17-year-old youth who needs assistance accessing and participating in community activities. This role focuses on promoting independence, confidence, and positive social experiences in a safe and supportive manner. Does prefer to work with someone young.
Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the individual with community access and participation (e.g., recreational activities, outings, skill-building activities)
  • Encouraging social interaction and appropriate communication skills
  • Assisting with planning and engaging in structured and meaningful activities
  • Providing supervision and guidance to ensure safety in the community
  • Offering positive reinforcement and emotional support
  • Communicating professionally with the family and agency as needed
Qualifications:

  • Dependable, patient, and compassionate
  • Comfortable working with teens
  • Ability to engage youth in positive, age-appropriate activities
  • Reliable transportation preferred
  • Ability to pass a DHS background check
  • Prior experience in caregiving, youth work, or support services is a plus (not required)
