Job description

Primary Location:
4800 Preston Park Boulevard, Plano, Texas, 75093
We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Job Summary:
Provide educational instruction to students in Continuing Education non-credit courses in assigned subject/topic in accordance with course syllabus, semester schedule and college mission which may include day, evening, distance education, weekend courses, online instruction, and other instructional modalities. Courses will be in the area of medical massage.

Required Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complete daily class attendance rosters and accurately document student absences. Prepare and submit 100% of additional learning documentation and an outline of class structure to the program manager before beginning of the course date.
  • Maintain familiarity with current course textbooks, classroom materials, teaching aids, teaching techniques, course content, teaching methodology, and technology to maintain currency and relevance relative to courses within the discipline. All instructor books/materials are to be kept in good condition and returned after the completion of the course. All student information should remain on campus in the proper filing system.
  • Prepare and submit 100% of student related forms, student evaluations, student rosters, tracking and information forms, informal assessments of student progress, and other student-related documents for 100% of students assigned in accordance with directed timeline requirements.
  • Complete and submit 100% of staff related forms (teaching contracts, professional development forms, materials/ supplies, tracking forms and additional request) in accordance with directed timeline requirements.
  • Immediately notify the program manager of all support services students may need or attention to classroom/office needs or equipment. Maintain confidentially in discussing students, staff volunteers and college matters.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to college mission, procedures and regulations. Keep program manager well informed of activities, results of efforts, problems identified/potential problems related to fellow coworkers and/or students.
  • Maintain current licensure with the state as well as working knowledge of massage practices and techniques. Assure each lab has the proper amount of materials or equipment for each student in advance.
  • Maintain a safe and positive learning environment during skills training and evaluation sessions.
  • Provide instruction, direct and/or evaluate students through skills practices in the proper procedures for safe and effective use of massage techniques and equipment.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Frequent physical effort required.
Requirements
High School diploma and a minimum of two (2) year's experience in the field of Massage Therapy.
Preferred
Associate degree from an accredited institution.
Licenses and Certifications
Active Massage Therapist License in the state of Texas.
Active Massage Therapist Instructor License in the state of Texas.
