Job description

Do you enjoy rolling up your sleeves to identify, troubleshoot and repair light maintenance jobs such as plumbing, carpentry or electrical issues? We're looking for a skilled and capable Facilities Maintenance Technician with a minimum of three years' experience to assist our Facilities Manager in maintaining and repairing ETCOG's facilities across our 14-county region. As our Facilities Maintenance Technician, you'll use your all-around construction skills and hands-on problem-solving abilities to ensure our facilities, both interior and exterior as well as their properties, are in top shape, aesthetically pleasing, and running smoothly. Whether it's fixing HVAC units, light fixtures or ensuring safety standards are met, you'll work independently with minimal supervision in our owned and leased facilities and their properties to keep things in excellent condition. If you thrive on solving challenges and can flexibly adapt to varied tasks, we want you on our team, come put your maintenance, handyman, or facilities experience to work in a flexible part-time role. Prior eligible government, public-sector service, or ISD in Texas, may count toward retirement service credit under our pension plan.
Seeking specific skills and abilities in these areas: Electrical repair, light fixtures, plumbing, carpentry, knowledge of HVAC units, and furniture repair, assembly and arrangement.
East Texas Council of Governments is a voluntary association of counties, cities, school districts and special districts within the fourteen-county East Texas region. We assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit and coordinating for sound regional development. Either directly, or through our contractors, ETCOG provides programs and services for East Texas seniors, employers and job seekers. We also build the 9-1-1 emergency call delivery system, provide peace officer training and homeland security planning services; and deliver rural transportation services, business finance programs, grant writing services and environmental grant funding for the region.
