What You'll Do:
  • Provide customer service to patrons, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions in accordance with location procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols throughout library facilities, parking areas, grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points, observe activity within public spaces, and assist with the orderly flow of patrons, visitors, and staff in accordance with established policies.
  • Communicate professionally with library personnel, law enforcement, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, hazards, and security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
