The University of Saint Mary is conveniently located a short 30 minutesโ€™ drive from Parkville, Shawnee, Basehor and Kansas City, Kansas. The University of Saint Mary is a Roman Catholic, liberal arts university located in Leavenworth, Kansas, just 25 minutes away from Kansas City. USM serves about 1,400 students at its main campus in Leavenworth, its satellite location in Overland Park, as well as online.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The responsibility of the Part Time Assistant Coach Cheer is to help in the day-to-day functioning of the Cheer program. All job duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with the conduct, discipline and positive character development of student-athletes by using the guidelines and principles of the USM Mission and the NAIA Champions of Character initiative
  • Assist with student-athletes in personal development and academic success
  • Teach and promote the USM Mission values of community, respect, justice and excellence
  • Assist with the coordination of the recruitment of quality student-athletes.
  • Assist with the retention of student athletes through intense monitoring of academic Performance
  • Perform coaching duties as determined by the Head Coach
  • Assists in inventory management, distribution, and collection of equipment and uniforms
  • Works with the Athletic Department in all sports promotions, fundraising, and recruitment efforts
  • Assist with the USM Athletic Department facilities management
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-3 years related experience
  • Able to work nights and weekends with the capability to travel
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years or older and be able to successfully complete the approved driver certification.
