Job Title: Production Team Member

Classification: Part-Time/Full-Time Non-exempt

Reports to: Logistics & Production Manager/Other Assigned Manager

Mission Statement:

Liberty Ministries exists to serve offenders in prison and ex-offenders in the community by showing Godโ€™s love, providing practical assistance, and supporting Biblical standards of justice.

Job Summary:

The Production Team Member is a vital part of our thrift team. In this role, the team member sorts all incoming clothing donations and helps to determine which category they belong to, as well as evaluating the itemโ€™s condition. This role is important to Liberty as it helps to determine what will be saved to be priced, and later sold on the sales floor. This role requires a good sense of judgment and those who enjoy working as part of a team. You will be expected to be moving, lifting, bending, and carrying 30-50 pounds.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Know and follow organization of stored clothing systems.
  2. Know and follow procedures for clothing rotation systems.
  3. Know and understand how items need to appear for the customers; meaning know how to hang and display clothing properly on correct hangers.
  4. Sort through every donation container according to the Liberty Thrift standards
  5. Categorize clothing according to season, children, adult men, adult women, holiday, etc.
  1. Identify imperfections that prevent the items from being salable and recycle accordingly.
  2. Other roles may include hanging clothing and producing seasonal items when the time is right. This is a volume driven position that requires speed, focus, and a goal-oriented mindset.
  3. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  1. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, stretch, push, pull, and lift to 30-50 pounds and stand for an extended period of time.
  2. Must be able to communicate in English, including reading, writing and counting.
  3. Must be able to operate store equipment efficiently (price guns, tagger guns, etc.)
  4. Must take direction well yet be able to work independently while remaining motivated and productive.
  5. Be neat in appearance and practice good personal hygiene.
  6. Must be in good physical and mental health with emotional maturity and stability along with a sense of humor.
  7. Must be supportive of working for a Christian Ministry, accepting the Mission Statements of Liberty Thrift and Liberty Ministries.
  8. Distinguish current styles, quality, condition and brands of clothing found in the marketplace.
  9. Good organizational skills.
  10. Must be willing and able to function in as many capacities as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

Customer Service experience preferred.
